Waipoo Falls
On the west side of the Island is Waimea Canyon and Waipoo Falls. The western side of the island is less populated and this is most certainly due, in part, to the amazing Waimea Canyon. This is a wonderful drive that starts out at sea level and ends up at about 5100 feet above sea level.
The canyon is called the “Grand Canyon of the Pacific” and I don’t know that I can say it is as spectacular as the Grand Canyon, but when you consider it is on a “small” island in the pacific, it’s pretty cool. The colors a vivid and the vegetation is always changing as you continue up the road.
Another “must see” for folks that want to experience the islands.
