Clear Lake – San Juan County
One part of our week was a trip trip to Silverton and “on the way back” we went to Clear Lake. Well, it wasn’t really on the way, but we took a little detour in the Jeep and climbed out at almost 12,000 feet to see this beautiful Alpine Lake.
The lake is in a bowl created by the rugged San Juans. The highest peak in the area is South Lookout Peak at 13,380. We just looked at it from a distance…. It was a beautiful area and as you can see, the snow was still hanging on during this first week of July.
