The Call to a Festival
In “The Islands” there are many different customs that have come down through time. One of these is the call to a festival event. It is always done through blowing through a conch shell. It sounds like a horn and is heard far and wide.
This is a shot of tow men blowing on the shell as we prepared for our luau. These two men were blowing on the shell and they would blow then turn and blow in another direction until they had sounded the horn in all four directions.
