Chateau Frontenac
This view of the chateau shows is stately, fortress like design. Originally built inĀ , the chateau has gone through a number of struggles over time. It fell to disrepair and then was refurbished in the 1690’s. Then it burned down in the 1830’s and the site sat with nothing until the late 1800’s. Finally, in 1893 the main portion of the current building was constructed. Now for over 100 years, it has been added to and enhanced and now stands as the prominent building in the skyline of Quebec City.
